Andy Hayher KC

Partner

Andy is experienced in all aspects of family law and has appeared before all levels of court. He is recognized for his unique expertise arguing appellate matters primarily before the Alberta Court of Appeal and occasionally before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Andy was appointed King’s Counsel in 2022 and is one of a handful of Canadian lawyers who have been admitted to the International Academy of Family Lawyers – a recognition of his international family law work, including international child abductions. Andy is fluent in Punjabi and has a working knowledge of Hindi.

Marty Birky

Associate

Practicing in family law and estate litigation, Marty has experience before the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King’s Bench. Driven to create the best results for his clients during a challenging time in their life, Marty is a strong advocate for mediation/arbitration as a dispute resolution practice.

No stranger to success, Marty was the head coach of the SAIT men’s basketball team, winning 6 straight Alberta Championships and a National Championship.

Associate

Lane is a passionate advocate for his clients in resolving their legal issues. He is a strong communicator and is able to equip clients with the information and understanding necessary to ensure they make informed decisions specific to their circumstances.

Lane was an active trial-division caseworker with Student Legal Assistance during his time at the University of Calgary, where he provided information and representation to low-income members of the community.

Jordan Lantz

Associate

Jordan has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta and is an Associate practicing in Family Law. He attended the University of Calgary Faculty of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 2022.

He is a former post-secondary athlete, graduating from Mount Royal University as an Academic All-Canadian.

Jenna Smith

Law student

Jenna is a law student with a bright future.  She joined the team at Hayher Lee to maximize her potential as a family lawyer.

Jenna has an undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Education and is a former teacher.  This diverse background informs her journey from Law Student to Lawyer. The goal: to provide future clients with the support and guidance they need during tumultuous times.
